Bienvenue à Saint-Boniface!

Our experience in St. Boniface was a time of both growth and fun; we were challenged and stretched in both our French and our view of the world, at the same time bonding together (often in laughter and song). A particular speaker by the name of Nathan Reiger struck me with the question of what it means to truly love your neighbour as well as what following Jesus whole-heartedly can look like. I can already see that Outtatown will alter me in many positive and exciting ways and this is just the beginning.

Notre expérience à Saint-Boniface était un temps de croissance et d’amusement; nous avons été mis au défi par rapport à notre français et notre vision du monde tout en se connectant les uns avec les autres (souvent en riant et chantant). Un professeur du nom de Nathan Reiger a partagé avec nous des questions  qui méritaient réflexion  tel que; qu’est-ce que ça veut dire de vraiment aimer notre prochain et que signifie de suivre Jésus de tout notre Cœur. Je peux déjà voir qu’Outtatown me changera de façons positives et excitantes et c’est seulement le commencement.

It was an interesting week. I learnt many things that inspired me and changed my persepctive of the world and the people around me. John Sears told us about politics and taught us Jula that will come useful in West Africa. Djibrilou Tall, from Burkina Faso, prepared us by explaining the culture in a way we can understand. Another speaker enlightened us to see the truth about what Muslims believe without the corrupt lies of the media.

C’était une semaine intéressante. J’ai appris beaucoup de choses qui m’ont inspirées et qui ont changées mes perspectives du monde et des personnes qui m’entourent. Jon Sears à parlé de la politique au Burkina et nous a enseigné le Jula qu’on peut utiliser en Afrique de l’Ouest. Djibrilou Tall, du Burkina Faso, nous a préparé en nous expliquant la culture dans une façon que nous pouvions comprendre. Un autre professeur nous illuminé pour qu’on puisse voir la vérité sur ce que les Musulmans croient quand il n’y a pas de mensonges corrompus dans les médias.
